The Cayman Islands are located 180 miles south of Florida. There are three islands making up the Cayman Islands: Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman. Grand Cayman is the center of commerce and by far the largest and most developed of the three. Due to its location in the Caribbean, the Cayman Islands enjoy warm weather all-year round.
Approximately 40,000 people including 20,000 ex-pats live within the 100 square miles that comprise the Cayman Islands. The standard of living is very good, with virtually zero unemployment. The financial services and tourism industries in Cayman are exceptionally strong.
The nation's currency is the Cayman Islands dollar, which is fixed with the American dollar at a rate of CI$1.00 to US$1.25. The Cayman Islands have zero income tax.
With such a high percentage of its population comprised of ex-pats, the ethnic make-up of the country is tremendously diverse.
