Bermuda is a beautiful group of islands 600 miles due east of North Carolina, United States. Its climate is subtropical, with temperatures typically ranging from the mid-80s in the summer to the mid-60s in the winter.
Approximately 62,000 people live within the 21 square miles which are Bermuda. The standard of living is one of the best in the world, with many thanks to the thriving insurance, banking and tourism industries.
The nation's currency is the Bermuda dollar, which is fixed on a par basis with the American dollar. Bermuda has zero income tax, meanwhile payroll tax is capped at 4.75%. The country instead uses import duties as its primary method of funding its operations.
The ethnic make-up of the country is 60% black and 40% white/other. The ex-pat community is extremely diverse, with qualified professionals coming from all parts of the world to work in this island paradise.
